A family business feeding Australia.

For 50 years, One Harvest has proudly helped feed Australian families.

What began as a connection to Australian produce in the early 1930s has grown into a national fresh food business — powered by people, relationships, and a shared commitment to freshness. Today, One Harvest operates four production facilities, works with a national grower network, and employs more than 800 people across Australia. Together, we grow, prepare, and pack fresh, value-added produce for supermarket shelves and family tables nationwide.

At our heart, we remain a family business —
built on hard work, pride in quality, and the belief that when our people grow, we all grow.

Early 1930s

Where it all Began

Duncan Robson began trading fresh fruit and vegetables at the Ipswich Markets in Queensland, building a reputation for reliability, hard work, and strong relationships. His passion for produce saw him trading well into his seventies — laying the foundations for a family legacy in Australian fresh food.

Early 1970s

The Next Generation

Duncan’s sons, Rob and Ian Robson, joined forces to establish Interharvest, a new wholesale business operating from the Brisbane Markets. Together, they carried forward the family’s commitment to quality produce while expanding their vision for the future of Australian horticulture.

Late 1970s-1980s

Industry Firsts

Over two decades, Rob and Ian helped shape the modern horticulture industry. Interharvest pioneered several Australian firsts — including field representatives working directly with growers, vacuum cooling in key growing regions, and an in-house marketing team — innovations that became hallmarks of the business.

Late 80s & early 90s

A Fresh Idea

International travel introduced Rob Robson to the emerging world of fresh-cut salads and vegetables. Combined with shifting supply chains that moved beyond central markets, this sparked an opportunity to reimagine supermarket fresh food — introducing value-added, ready-to-eat produce to Australian consumers.

1995

A National First

Rob independently founded Harvest FreshCuts, launching Australia’s first fresh-cut salad manufacturing business. A purpose-built facility at Wacol, Brisbane marked a pivotal moment — transforming fresh produce from market stalls to modern manufacturing for major retailers.

1998

Growing in Gippsland

The purchase of Vegco in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland, secured year-round salad supply and expanded One Harvest’s regional footprint. The site became a major local employer, strengthening ties with growers and communities while supporting long-term growth and stability.

2009

Westward Expansion

A state-of-the-art Harvest FreshCuts facility opened in Bibra Lake, Perth. Purpose-built for the WA market, the site ensured maximum freshness and shelf life — reinforcing One Harvest’s commitment to local production and national reach.

2012

Scaling Up

A major expansion of the Wacol facility delivered increased capacity and efficiency. New receivals and despatch areas, along with additional trim and bagging lines, enabled One Harvest to meet growing demand while maintaining quality and safety standards.

2013

Expanding Capability

A fresh-cooked beetroot processing facility was installed at the Bairnsdale site, broadening One Harvest’s product offering and strengthening its position in value-added fresh food manufacturing.

2014

A Brand is Born

Love Beets® Baby Beetroot launched — celebrating Aussie-grown produce with a fresh, modern brand. The product quickly became a favourite with consumers seeking convenient, healthy options.

2015

East Coast Growth

One Harvest opened its newest manufacturing facility in Smeaton Grange, Sydney. Strategically located, the site supports supply to Australia’s largest population centres with speed, freshness, and reliability.

2022-2023

Future-Ready

Significant investments were made in automation and technology across operations, including optical sorters, advanced packing automation, and new moisture-control HVAC systems — enhancing efficiency, quality, and food safety.

MEET OUR FOUNDER: ROB ROBSON

Every business starts with a bold idea – and the courage to back it.

Building on the Robson family’s deep roots in Australian produce, Rob Robson helped shape One Harvest into the business it is today. He saw an opportunity to do things differently — to combine tradition with innovation and create a fresh food business that could grow alongside the changing needs of Australian consumers.

An entrepreneur at heart, Rob believed in investing in people, backing quality, and building long-term partnerships. Under his leadership, One Harvest evolved from a market-based operation into a nationally trusted fresh food business – while remaining proudly family-owned and people-first.

In 2010, Rob passed the reins to the next generation. Today, his legacy lives on through One Harvest’s values, culture, and continued commitment to quality. That legacy continues under the leadership of his son, Sam Robson, and the teams across One Harvest.
